Terms of Service

Effective date: April 1, 2026

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using DocuClear, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

2. Service Description

DocuClear provides AI-assisted document explanation, translation, and fraud-risk screening. The service is informational and workflow-based.

3. No Legal Advice

DocuClear is not a law firm and does not provide legal advice. Use of the service does not create an attorney-client relationship. You are responsible for verifying important deadlines, legal obligations, and agency requirements with official sources or qualified professionals.

4. No Guarantee of Accuracy

AI-generated translations and document analyses may contain errors, omissions, or incomplete interpretations. You should not rely on the service as your sole source for legal, immigration, court, tax, medical, insurance, or financial decisions.

5. Certified Translation

Certified translation services, where offered, are separate from ordinary AI-generated output and must be expressly identified as such. Unless a result is specifically sold and labeled as certified, it is not a certified translation.

6. User Responsibilities

  • You must upload only documents you have the right to use.
  • You must provide accurate contact and payment information.
  • You must not use the service for unlawful, harmful, or abusive purposes.
  • You are responsible for reviewing all outputs before acting on them.

7. Payments and Refunds

Paid features are processed through Stripe. Unless otherwise required by law, fees are generally non-refundable after a paid result has been delivered or unlocked. We may, in our sole discretion, review support requests and provide a refund or credit in limited circumstances.

8. Availability

We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the service at any time, with or without notice. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability.

9. Intellectual Property

DocuClear and its service design, branding, interface, and related materials are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You retain rights you hold in your uploaded documents, subject to the permissions needed for us to operate the service.

10. Prohibited Conduct

You may not:
  • Attempt to reverse engineer, disrupt, or bypass the service.
  • Upload malicious code or exploit the platform.
  • Use the service to mislead others or create fraudulent materials.
  • Interfere with security, rate limits, or payment systems.

11. Disclaimer of Warranties

The service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, to the maximum extent permitted by law.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, DocuClear and its operators will not be liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, or decisions made in reliance on the service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service will not exceed the amount you paid to us for the specific transaction giving rise to the claim.

13. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless DocuClear and its operators from claims, liabilities, damages, and expenses arising from your use of the service, your uploaded materials, or your violation of these Terms.

14. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict of law principles, except where otherwise required by applicable law.

15. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the service after updated Terms are posted means you accept the revised Terms.
